The Yamaha SPX2000 is a professional multi-effects processor that delivers high-quality audio processing for both live sound reinforcement and studio production. Building on the legacy of previous SPX models, the SPX2000 features a new generation of processing with 24-bit/96kHz audio resolution and advanced REV-X reverb algorithms. The unit also offers an efficient, color-coded user interface and versatile connectivity options.
Core features
  • High-end audio processing: The SPX2000 utilizes a 96kHz audio DSP with 32-bit internal processing and 24-bit AD/DA converters, achieving a dynamic range of 106 dB. This technology is also found in Yamaha’s DM series of digital production consoles, ensuring pristine sound quality.
  • Advanced REV-X reverb: This unit’s main highlight is its 17 REV-X reverb programs, which produce rich, high-definition reverb with a smooth decay. These programs include REV-X Hall, REV-X Room, and REV-X Plate.
  • Extensive effects library: In addition to the REV-X reverbs, the SPX2000 includes 80 popular SPX programs, such as delays, pitch effects, modulation, gate reverbs, and filter effects. A “Classic” bank also offers 25 presets reminiscent of early SPX models.
  • Intuitive user interface:
    • Color-coded LCD: The display features five assignable backlight colors, which automatically change based on the effect group for instant visual identification.
    • “Cross-keys”: The front panel includes simple, intuitive navigation controls for easy editing and access to parameters.
    • Operation lock: Three security levels prevent accidental changes to settings during a performance or session.
  • Professional connectivity: The SPX2000 is built for flexible integration into any professional audio setup.
    • Analog I/O: Features latching XLR and 1/4-inch TRS phone jacks for left and right channels, with selectable +4dBu/-10dBu levels.
    • Digital I/O: Includes AES/EBU XLR connectors and a BNC WORDCLOCK input.
    • Control connectors: MIDI IN, OUT/THROUGH, and a USB TO HOST connector are available for remote control and data management.
  • SPX2000 Editor: The included software for Mac OS X and Windows allows for computer-based editing and data management, creating a consistent workflow with Yamaha digital consoles.
