The Yamaha Revstar Standard RSS02T in Black is a double-cutaway electric guitar known for its blend of vintage style (inspired by 1960s Café Racer motorbikes) and modern features. It is part of the second generation of Revstar guitars, introduced in 2022.

Key Features

• Body: Chambered mahogany body with a maple top, designed using Yamaha’s Acoustic Design process to increase resonance, reduce weight, and improve balance.
• Neck: 3-piece mahogany set neck with carbon fiber reinforcement for added stability and durability. It has a satin finish on the back for smooth playability and a comfortable “C” profile.
• Fingerboard: Rosewood fingerboard with a 12-inch radius and 22 jumbo stainless steel frets, which are highly resistant to wear.
• Pickups: Two custom-designed Yamaha VP5 P-90 style Alnico V single-coil pickups, which deliver a tone described as a balance between single-coils and humbuckers, offering a clear, punchy sound with rich mids.
• Controls: Master volume and master tone controls, along with a 5-way pickup selector switch.
• “Focus Switch”: The tone control knob features a push-pull “Focus Switch” that, when activated, provides a passive boost, similar to the sound of overwound pickups, which results in darker highs and increased mids and lows for a more aggressive character.
• Bridge/Tailpiece: Features a Tune-O-Matic bridge with a distinctive “Racing tailpiece”.
