Design: The instrument features a striking, lightweight “infinity loop” design, inspired by both acoustic violins and guitars, and crafted from six different woods. This design is not only visually appealing for stage presence but also contributes to the instrument’s natural resonance.
Materials: The body is a five-layer construction of spruce, mahogany, and maple, with an oil-finished walnut frame. It has a maple neck, composite or rosewood fingerboard, and ebony tuning pegs and chin rest.
Electronics: It uses a high-output passive piezo bridge pickup system carried over from Yamaha’s professional Silent Violin series, delivering a smooth, warm, and organic tone without requiring batteries.
Controls: The violin includes a volume control knob and a selector switch on the back that activates or bypasses the volume control.
Output: It has a standard 1/4″ output jack for easy connection to amplifiers or PA systems.
Playability: The shape and dimensions are similar to an acoustic violin, allowing for a seamless transition for players and compatibility with most standard chin and shoulder rests.
Strings: The instrument comes fitted with D’Addario Zyex strings.
