The Yamaha YC88 is an 88-key stage keyboard and organ designed for discerning pianists who need expressive feel and a variety of sounds for live performance. It combines a realistic-feeling weighted keybed with multiple sound engines, including authentic vintage organ simulations with physical drawbars.

  • Three sound engines: The YC88 includes Yamaha’s proprietary sound generation technologies:
    • Virtual Circuitry Modeling (VCM): Recreates the sound and behavior of classic tonewheel organs by modeling their original analog circuits down to the component level.
    • AWM2: Advanced Wave Memory 2 technology provides a wide selection of realistic and expressive acoustic and electric piano sounds, derived from the CP series of stage pianos.
    • FM Synthesis: Provides the classic FM electric piano and synth sounds that Yamaha made famous.
  • NW-GH3 keybed: The 88-key Natural Wood Graded Hammer action provides a triple-sensor mechanism for highly expressive and accurate playing. The keys feature synthetic ebony and ivory tops for an authentic grand piano feel.
  • Physical drawbars: The instrument features nine physical drawbars with customizable LED lights, providing hands-on control over the organ section.
  • Onboard effects: It includes nine built-in effects processors and a master EQ for further sound customization. A dedicated rotary speaker simulation is also included for the organ sounds.
  • Intuitive interface: The control panel is designed for quick and intuitive sound selection and tweaking on the fly, with dedicated sections for the organ, keys A, and keys B.
  • Seamless sound switching: This feature allows you to switch between sounds and Live Set memories without notes or effects being cut off, which is ideal for live performance.
  • Connectivity: The YC88 functions as a versatile hub for a studio or live setup. It includes balanced XLR outputs, a 2-channel USB audio/MIDI interface for recording, and multiple inputs for footswitches and controllers.
